Additional Information | Patient must have a completed in date pre-transfusion specimen as appropriate for specimen preparation. Birth - 4 months: Must have prerequisite Neonatal Type & Screen performed this admission. >4 months: Must have Prerequisite Type & Screen performed within past 3 days. >4 months and pre-screened as not having been pregnant or transfused in the past 3 months by PAT/AM Preprocedural staff: Must have Prerequisite Type & Screen with extended specimen outdate performed within past 10 days. All RBC blood products are leukocyte reduced and as such are considered "CMV Safe". Any additional requirements (CMV seronegative, irradiated) need to be specified in the order. |

Rejection Criteria | Blood armband number from pretransfusion specimen does not match patient. Patient does not have a blood armband. |
