Our Commitment
Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council
Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council is dedicated to cultivating an environment where our patients’ unique cultures, faiths and lifestyles are honored and respected. The council is comprised of three subcommittees that provide guidance and recommendations for diversity and inclusion strategies.
Health Equity Subcommittee
The Health Equity Subcommittee uses data to identify differences in treatment, access, outcomes and other variables. When identified, the subcommittee researches factors that contribute to imbalances and makes recommendations to improve care.
LGBTQIA+ Equality Subcommittee
The LGBTQIA+ Subcommittee works to educate the associates of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System regarding the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community. Understanding that the LGBTQIA+ community has been historically underserved and has unique needs, the subcommittee strives to enhance patient care and bridge healthcare disparities. The subcommittee aims to assist SRHS in providing comprehensive, compassionate care regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
15 CLAS Standards Education Subcommittee
The 15 CLAS Standards Education Subcommittee works to improve understanding and disseminate information regarding the National Standards for Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services across the healthcare system. The subcommittee provides cultural awareness and education for associates of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. The goal of the subcommittee is to foster a greater awareness of the benefits of diversity and a culture of respect through education.
