Stone must be submitted dry. Specimens should not be submitted in liquid, (formalin, urine, etc.). There will be a delay in analyzing and reporting specimens not received dry.

Stone submitted to laboratory must be sent to Histology lab first, before sending to reference lab for analysis. This test evaluates stone composition, metabolic factors that affect stone formation; work up nephroliathiasis.
