If you are new to nursing, getting started is easy. Simply apply for the nursing position you want at any Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System location up to six months before graduation.
If you have less than 12 months of experience in professional nursing, you are automatically part of our transition to practice program. Just start your new job, and we will get your transition to practice pathway underway.

Where to Start
After getting oriented and familiar with your new colleagues and job responsibilities, we will notify you about when your transition to practice pathway starts, where to go and what to do.
- After you start, you will begin training in your home department once you have completed your orientation and received your registered nurse (RN) license.
- There is no need to apply to our pathway program – you are automatically enrolled within your first few months of employment, when the next group of new nurses is ready.
- Your nurse pathway is customized to enhance the training you receive in your home department.
- Your residency will offer opportunities to learn and ways to practice under the guidance of a seasoned nurse preceptor and other leaders. Learn more about what to expect during your transition to practice.
