Rotation Overview
Duration: 2-4 week rotation
Course Offered: Throughout the year
The Anesthesiology rotation is designed to expose 3rd and 4th year medical students to the process of caring for a patient in the perioperative setting. Students are paired with an anesthesiologist each day and observe the management of patients undergoing general, cardiac and obstetric procedures in a busy private practice setting. Student learning goals include basic airway evaluation and management, intubation and venipuncture. Opportunities for more advanced skills and learning are based upon the individual’s goals and motivation. We look forward to showing students what we really do behind the drapes!
