Dr. Figura attended St. Georges University School of Medicine where he received both his Doctorate in Medicine and a Masters degree in Public Health. He completed his General Surgery training at Spartanburg Medical Center and advanced training in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He currently practices adult cardiac and thoracic surgery and serves as clinical director of the extracorporeal life support program at Spartanburg Medical Center. He is an assistant professor at the Medical University of South Carolina Area Health Education Consortium and is a diplomat of both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
