Biography
Dr. Colbath received his medical degree from Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine in Charleston, SC. Following medical school, he remained at MUSC and completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Colbath completed a fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder reconstruction under Richard Hawkins at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and holds membership with the Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Hip and Knee Society, American Association of Sports Medicine, Southern Orthopedic Association, and Spartanburg County Medical Society.
Dr. Colbath is a team physician for both Gaffney High School and Blacksburg High School. Dr. Colbath has previously served as team physician for North Greenville University, the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind and Union County High School. He has also served as team physician for the Greenville Drive, the Greenville Road Warriors and as Spring training physician for the Colorado Rockies.
Dr. Colbath is an opioid sparing surgical advocate specializing in arthroscopic shoulder repair and reconstructive cases.
