Collection kit containing a 1 gallon can, absorbent sheet, and O-ring. Can must be obtained form the lab. |
Collection Instructions |
Collect stool directly into can. Do not fill any can more than 2/3 full. Secure lid with pressure and firmly attach the O-ring. State collection time on the can label. Place the can and the absorbent sheet into the leakproof plastic bag and seal. |

This is not for fecal fat qualitative or a random stool collection. Entire can must be sent to Lab Corp without opening. |
Patient Preparation |
Adults should be on a standard diet containing 50-150 grams of fat per day for at least 3 days before test is started. The patient should not have had mineral oil as a laxative prior to collection. |
