Additional Information

The principle use of C-peptide is in the evaluation for hypoglycemia. C-peptide levels are increased with renal failure.

Patient Preparation

Patient should fast for 14-16 hours for basal values

Specimen Processing Instructions

If a red-top tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube. Avoid hemolysis.
