A message from Program Director Christopher Powers, MD
As director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, thank you for your interest in this specialty and in our unique training program. Our fellowship is part of a moderate-sized and growing healthcare system in beautiful Upstate South Carolina. We are a small program (one fellow), but as the first accredited hospice and palliative medicine fellowship in the state starting in 2014, we have considerable experience in post-residency training in this field. We have continuously modified our program, shaped by engaged faculty and from feedback from our fellows. Our faculty, made up of physicians and other members of the team, love to teach and are committed to making this the best possible training experience for our fellows.
These pages intend to provide you with enough information about our program, faculty, the institution and the area to decide if we might be a good fit for you.
In any case, we wish you the best as you make the important decision about where to pursue your advanced training in hospice and palliative medicine, and hope that you will find an opportunity that is right for you.
