Why Spartanburg Regional? I chose SRHS because I wanted to train at a strong community-based general surgery program. After meeting the program director, residents, and staff, I could tell they were happy, honest, and genuinely care about providing well-rounded surgical training to their residents. They clearly value good work ethic as well as professional and personal maturity.

Why Spartanburg Regional? I did an away rotation here and loved every minute of it. The residents truly support each other, and it felt like a great environment to learn in. The operative experience and training that is offered here will prepare me for practice in a rural area straight out of residency if I desire, or set me up for a fellowship program should I decide to go in that direction. I am excited to spend the next five years at SRHS!

Why Spartanburg Regional? Spartanburg Medical Center has everything I was looking for in a surgical program. The attendings are excellent, and there is early exposure to the O.R. and complex cases, ensuring comprehensive training. The current residents are all outstanding, and their expertise in the O.R. is exceptional. There is also the ability to participate in and present research, which is a priority for me. My experience with the program has been fantastic, and I am overjoyed to be a part of this exemplary team.

Why Spartanburg Regional? I chose Spartanburg for surgical training because it is a community-based program with early O.R. exposure. It also has historically trained residents that are comfortable entering practice after 5 years of residency but also equipped with the skills and tools to get into whatever residency they desire. I felt very comfortable when speaking with the program director and residents. They seem like a big family, which was very important for me when looking for a residency.
