About
Biography
Dr. Frank Phillips received his medical degree from Southwestern at Memphis, now Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed a transitional internship at The Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, before completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Phillips is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has served as chairman of the South Carolina Medical Associations Medical Aspects of Sports Committee. Practicing in Gaffney for more than 30 years, Dr. Phillips is passionate about the community and has served as team physician for Gaffney High School, Blacksburg High School, Limestone College, USC - Upstate and Spartanburg Methodist College. He also served as training camp physician for the 1996 US Mens Olympic Gymnastics team. Dr. Phillips is particularly interested in operative and non-operative treatment of knee arthritis and other causes of knee pain. He believes in a collaborative approach to orthopaedic care, educating each patient and working together to create a tailor-made plan based on their wants, needs and desires.
