About Pre-Admission Testing
Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) helps make sure patients are physically ready for the procedure and recovery process.
In most cases, your doctor will order tests to be performed prior to your surgery or procedure. Your PAT appointment will consist of testing and a nurse reviewing the patient’s current health status. Your participation in the PAT testing and interview is needed to provide optimal care during and following your procedure.
Common tests conducted during the PAT appointment are complete blood count (CBC), complete medical profile, electrocardiogram (EKG), x-rays, stress test, and a pacemaker and defibrillator placement report.
Patients with sensitivity to anesthesia are managed with thorough assessment pre and postoperatively and appropriate individualized plans for delivery of anesthesia.
Please visit the PAT location where you will have your procedure performed. If you are unable to keep your PAT appointment, it may result in a delay or cancellation of your surgery.
What to bring: Identification, insurance card and a complete list of medications and dosages you are currently taking (prescription, over the counter and herbals).
