Our training and education services include:

• Ergonomic Assessment and Training

  WorkHealthySC’s ergonomic services include job rotation development, proactive and post-injury risk assessments, and office ergonomics. We also offer injury causation assessments for situations where there is disagreement between claimed injury and mechanism of injury. These assessments include a full review of the medical record, review of deposition, ergonomic assessment and a biomechanical analysis comparing actual job demands on the injured body part/structure in question. Regardless of the specific type of assessment needed, our staff is trained in the use of researched-based and industry-respected assessment tools including video-based motion capture analysis options. 

  Many of our clients find our ergonomic education classes to be the perfect complement to their corporate ergonomics programming. Our offerings range from one-hour ergonomic training classes for your employees up to two-day ergonomic certificate classes for trainers.

  Our experienced and certified staff is comprised of physical therapists/ergonomists and exercise physiologists/ergonomists.

• Essential Function Testing (EFT)

  Essential Function Testing confirms simultaneously, for both the employee and employer, if a potential employee can perform the job safely. EFT decreases injuries, workers’ compensation costs and attrition. Our team can work with an existing EFT or build one from the ground up. Our experience will help you safely, effectively and legally implement this initiative. We will use your data and key performance indicators to determine your actual cost avoidance and return on investment.

• Onsite Injury Prevention

  WorkHealthySC offers your workers access to our skilled physical therapist/ergonomist for efficient and effective solutions, addressing functional deficits and minor discomfort before they become more significant and affect an associate’s ability to perform the essential functions of their job. These high-quality services are delivered to your facility floor without interrupting production. Our onsite programs empower your workers to take personal responsibility for their health and remove any barriers to receiving the help they need to be successful. We address both personal and work-related concerns as both contribute to total worker health.

  Our services include individualized assessment and education on tailored solutions including musculoskeletal gap analysis, positional awareness to the work task, relevance of tool selection, tool positioning, stance, reach, diversification of work postures and grasp techniques, and ergonomic risk assessment.

  Our service combination results in individualized work performance techniques and risk reduction strategies. All of this is done while partnering with onsite safety, production and medical (when present) to deliver a seamless solution that complements the employer's focus on safety, productivity and associate wellness.

• Functional Job Analysis

  Our team is uniquely qualified to conduct your functional job analyses, ensuring a meticulous and precise evaluation of the specific essential function work requirements at your facility. With a deep understanding of the intricacies involved in assessing job tasks, physical demands and essential functions within work environments, our expertise is complemented by our comprehensive approach.

  Our proven and legally defensible methodology has been successful for decades by focusing the analysis on the associate experience and ultimately having them verify the authenticity of the functional job description through multiple levels of validation. This method of creating job descriptions allows the employer to make secure decisions on hire, return to work, and transfer situations. It also lays the groundwork for implementation of a legally defensible essential function test (EFT) that complies with EEOC and ADA/ADAAA guidelines.
