Frequently Asked Questions

• Where do I get my Employee ID/Badge and System Login?

  Your badge will be available upon checking in for orientation. Your login information will be provided by your manager when you arrive for your first day in your department.

• Will I have a separate orientation for my specific department?

  Yes, after completing New Associate Orientation, you will also complete orientation within your department. Your manager or designee will call or email you with specific instructions for where to report on the Tuesday after New Associate Orientation (or an alternate day, if applicable to your work schedule). They will also provide information about what (if anything) to bring with you. Any specific questions about your department orientation should be directed to your supervisor or manager, as they will have the most accurate information for you.

• Where should I park?

  Our patients and customers use the closest parking to our facilities.

  For your day-to-day parking after orientation, the designated areas in which associates park are clearly marked, but you may also want to review the maps for each of our campuses. If you require closer parking due to acute or chronic conditions and have a valid handicap parking pass, you may utilize handicapped parking as marked and available. Security does not require associates to have any other parking passes or register vehicles to park at any of our campuses.

• Are there rules about my dress and appearance?

  The general rule to consider when it comes to dress and appearance is that all associates should wear well-fitting, clean clothing that does not inhibit the performance of tasks within an associate’s particular role. Clothing should not be offensive or convey explicit, political or controversial messages. Denim and jeans are prohibited (except in specific circumstances with approval before wearing). 

  Associates can display tattoos and/or body art but may be asked to cover these if they are found to be off-putting to patients or fellow associates.

  Jewelry should be conservative in size and number. Earrings can be worn in the ears, but other piercings should be covered with spacers that match skin tone or are clear. Jewelry or piercings should not interfere with the associates’ safety, job performance or the safety of others.

  Your department may have more specific guidance, which they will provide during your department orientation.

• What color scrubs do I need to wear?

  If your role wears scrubs, your manager or supervisor will provide information before starting your department orientation so that you may know what color(s) are approved for your professional role. 

  Pants, skirts, vests, tops, undergarments or jackets are to be in the approved color for each job position. Shirts are to have a collar if a scrub top is not worn. Approved SRHS t-shirts with visible system emblem/logo may be worn. Unit-specific t-shirts must be approved by Marketing, ordered via an approved vendor and have the SRHS logo visible. 

  All jackets must be scrub-style. No hoodies/fleece Jackets, sweaters or scarves are allowed.

• How do I sign up for benefits?

  You will have 31 days to make your benefit enrollment decision. Please allow 2-3 business days after your New Associate Orientation for your information to be accurate within the system before contacting Bswift to ask questions about coverage. If you choose SRHS associate insurance, it will retroactively cover you from the first day of your employment.

• What are HealthStream modules, and why do I need to watch them?

  To reduce the time you spend in New Associate Orientation and supplement your department orientation, you will complete several modules within our online Learning Management System, HealthStream. This will also be where you complete several other modules that will apply to your job, department, or SRHS associate status.

  Please allow 1-2 business days after you complete New Associate Orientation to log in to HealthStream and complete any assigned modules. You will be given time to complete your required modules during your department orientation to ensure that you complete them within the first two weeks of starting.

  For annual training in HealthStream, you will be expected to complete any required modules each year during your birth month.

  Note: If your birth month is the same month as your start date, you do not have to complete the same modules again this year.

• When is my first payday?

  The date of your first payday coincides with your New Associate Orientation date. This specific date will be provided during your Orientation and is also in your benefits guide.

  In most cases, you will be paid by electronic funds transfer for your first payday and all paydays thereafter. However, there are some circumstances in which an associate may receive a paper check for their first payday. All efforts will be made to ensure that you will be paid each time by electronic funds transfer.
